SBE STEAM Works program is organizing summer day camps for Siksika youth in grades 7-12. The camps will include experiential (hands-on) activity and teaching in Robotics and Coding, Vitual Reality and Augmented Reality, 3D Design and Printing, Astronomy and Telescopes, Model Rocketry, Bio engineering, Mathethmatics and Chess. Students will also go on field trips to Telus SPARK Science Centre and Rothney Astrophysical Observatory. An elder will share traditional knowledge and stories about the sky and constellations to connect the youth with their cultural knowledge. DATES: (all camps are Monday-Friday, 9:30am-3:30pm, 5 days/camp, if there is excess capacity students can enroll in up to 2 weeks of camp} Camp 1: July 26-30th Camp 2: August 2-6th Camp 3: August 9-13th Lunch and light snacks will be provided each day, bussing will also be provided. Educational activity programs such as Summer Camps involve certain elements of risk injuries that may occur while participating in those activities. The Siksika Board of Education does not provide accidental death,disability, dismemberment or medical expenses insurance on behalf of the students participating in summer camp.
